Something I noticed that stuck throughout the whole book was the witches. The first time I remember the witches was when Macbeth came in and we were introduced to them. This is what makes me remember the prophecy throughout the whole book. We slowly learn more about it and as the ending of the book comes we understand the outcome of the prophecy.
The outcome of the prophecy was nothing that I expected. It was a reversed truth. This causes me to remember to beginning of the book were I thought the witches were only good to Macbeth! The reserved truth of the prophecy is that the witches told Macbeth that he would somebody become king. Macbeth was impatient and started to kill people and thats where I think the the lie to the truth comes in!

Macbeth Quotes and reading times
I spent about 3 hours on my portfolio project, 30 minutes reviewing for macbeth quiz, and I read for about an hour of Lauren Conrad: fashion book
Foul is fair and fair is foul
This quote is obviously a quote that sticks out to most people. When I hear this I dont automatically think of Macbeth like most people because usually I am trying to figure it out. If you break it up into two parts (foul is fair) and (fair is foul) you can really understand just what Shakespeare means. Some people may disagree but this is what I think of when I hear Foul is fair and Fair is foul.
Foul is fair- sometimes being foul or something foul can lead to a fair thing. I do not think that this is true all the time but for Macbeth I feel like this quote describes it perfectly.
Fair is foul- now even though foul is fair is the complete opposite of fair is foul this also makes since. Sometimes for things to be fair they had to be foul. For intense to make something fair you may have to split something half way but that could be foul to the person who was suppose to get more causing fair to be foul.

Free Post-Lifeguarding
This past Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday I got Lifeguard certified. It was a lot of work and exhausting but I can not wait to work this summer! This is something I have looked forward to since I was young. So many of my friends will be working with me that I will have a blast. But more important than that I learned the real techniques used if something serious were to happen. It is EXTREMELY hard to carry a person bigger than you across the pool while performing CPR so I do hope that this will not happen this summer!
I had this class form 9-3 and we got an hour break for lunch. I signed up with 3 of my friends Tyler, Jake, and Brennan who will also be working with me. We were super nervous we wouldn't pass the final test so we came to my house thursday and studied for a couple hours. Luckily we all passed the written test friday afternoon and then completed the skills test which were both super hard. I cant wait for what this job brings me this coming summer!
Times
I finished my whole world history book roughly 6-7 hour chilling on the beach(:
stared to work on my final English project a little sunday afternoon for about an hour

2 Statements
1. Everyone is capable of lying, betrayal, and violence, which are basic parts of human nature.
I agree with this statement but not completely. I feel that the word violence is not strictly used. When really I look at violence like committing a crime. This quote for some reason reminds me of the 3 witches and how they were evil. I say evil because the word I think of when I see these 3 words is evil.
2. Ambition is a positive, desirable trait in a person.
I agree with this statement. I think that having ambition leads to being a positive person with a positive attitude. A person who has ambition for sure has a desirable trait because they have ambition and series to do and finish things.

Poem- Christmas Coal Time
My favorite time is Christmas time
with all the yummy cookies and warm hot chocolate,
A big Christmas tree with decorative ornaments,
whats your favorite time,
It has to be Christmas time.
What little kid doesn't love a sweet surprise
not only from santa, but reindeer too.
With the crackle of the fire
hopefully santa will check the chimney before coming down.
We don't need a burned bum on Christmas Eve.
Maybe I should sneak out for some water
and take a peak under the Christmas tree.
Santa must have left good gifts
I wasn't that mean.
Oh no!
He cant have left me coal
I promise I wasn't mean.
Well Christmas time is still my favorite time.
In my poem I made sure to cover the 3 topics I was most confused on. One of them being the A, B, C's that go on the side of each line. I know that its the last word that must rhyme but I seem to always get one wrong. I also tried to use a raucous word but dont thing that worked out (crackle). Another was enjambment which I think i used it in the right spots but for some reason I am never sure.

Let Her Go: Passenger
In the song Let Her go by passenger the first thing I noticed was the rhyme scheme. It is repetitive but the words do not repeat and it makes it seem like more of a rhyme. When writing next to it my A, B, C's I noticed how it would be the same for 4 lines then change for one then go back. More than half of this song is in end rhyme which makes it unique. Along with the end rhyme there is also end stop lines through out this song. I never realized how much lyrics could relate to poetry.
The way these lyrics are sung are not in a poetic meaning. But the tone of these lyrics could come off as a poem. I found this song had lots of different poetry vocabulary we have learned but it was hard to identify at first.

Research Paper
Writing is something I will probably never be confident in but at least for this paper I have had more of a choice on my topic. I do not feel like my paper is as strong as it should be for the amount of time I have spent on the whole project in general. But I do feel like if I spend a good amount of time on the final and going to the writing center my paper could improve a whole letter grade. I do want to work as hard on this paper as I did on the last but for some reason I have just struggled finding strong information.
I do feel that the easier part of this paper was once I started to type it made a lot more sense. The hardest part was making a thesis that related to the checklist of things it needed to be. I also struggled with making my body connect to my thesis and be the arguable paper it should be. I do feel that my final will be a lot stronger than my draft but I am expecting a descent grade because it is well written. I hope that having help Dr. D, the writing center, and Mrs. Harper I will be able to make this a super strong paper that makes sense and shows my research on Geisha for the NHD project.

Sneaux Much Fun!
I absolutely love snow! I just wish that it could snow more down here in the south. Having 3 days off for snow weather just had me wishing for real snow. Even though that never happened. And sadly as I wished for snow which never came I was stuck inside doing school work which seemed to keep getting bigger and bigger every day. But honestly I was thankful for virtual school I know that I would hate having to come for 3 days in the summer to make up for these days missed.
While trying to enjoy my mini snow-cation I had 3 of my friends over to take a break from school work and we did absolutely nothing but play flappy bird. So maybe the 3 days off were not productive but I did manage to catch up on my sleep! Having these 3 days off really helped me realize how important going to school is. Without my teachers I dont think I would have been able to complete all my work without getting everything wrong!

Research and Reading
Reading times
Class Book: 3 hours, 30 minutes, 45 minutes
detailed outline: 2 hours
It was difficult for me to find a topic I enjoyed. But Mrs. Harper suggested foot binding and Geisha to me. I knew more about Geisha because my mom lived in Japan so she has dolls from her childhood she handed down to me when I was younger. I figured it could be a cool topic to research on. It is exciting learning more about the little dolls I played with when I was younger but it is very difficult finding information on my topic. The life these women live is completely by choice. It is a long road to becoming a Geisha.
For my National History Day Topic I have decided to study the topic of Geisha Women. While researching I have learned new information about Geisha. It is a hidden world that these women decide to become apart of. These girls go through months of training to become a Maiko and once they have been that for 5 years then determines whether or not you have become a Geisha. This world that they become apart of is quit secretive and serious about following rules. Geisha have many responsibilities and rules that if broken could ruin there training.

Research Topic: Geisha
When I first chose a topic i hated it. I changed my topic multiple times. But Mrs. Harper finally had a great idea and that would be do research Geisha. I never even knew Geisha were real people before I started my research. This topic is very broad so it took a while to come to one strong research topic which is, The rights geisha woman have to live by and follow. It is a interesting topic and I am enjoying learning more about Geisha as I research.
Apparently people think of Geisha as something total different than what they do. They preform dancing, singing, and art for people that pay to entertain them. But not just any woman can be a Geisha, they have to go through many years of training and prepare for the live style they must soon adjust to. It is a very interesting and fun topic to learn about. My schedule for this week would to be add more information to each of my annotated bibs. I think with Geisha I need a ton of information which there is always room for more.

Student Prompt: Matine
A book that has made me change my mind is hard to think of. There is many books that make me think differently but not changed my mind. One book that really had an affect on what I thought about would be Kisses From Katie. This book was something different then I had ever read. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. There are many reasons this book changed the way I think. I think it makes me think about a better person I could be.
The reason why I think this book made me think I could be a better person is because the main character, Katie, leaves everything she has behind to save other peoples lives. I thought that was just amazing of a person to do. She had a perfect life but instead of going to college she moved across the world to take care of families who couldn't even go to school. This book made me think about how blessed I am and I can sometimes take that for granted. It made me realize how a could be a better person.
